Verge Prices Surge as Coin Added to Bitfinex. Debit Card Also on the Way
May 1, 2018, 8:10PMVerge up almost 14% in early morning trading, and this is probably due to a recent announcement that it is being listed on Bitfinex.
The cryptocurrency market is red today, and most of the top 100 assets are down by low single digits. But there are some exceptions to today's decline - Verge (XVG) is one of those exceptions. The privacy-focused token was up almost 14% in early morning trading. This is probably due to a recent announcement that the coin is being listed on Bitfinex, a major cryptocurrency trading exchange.
The Bitfinex listing also follows the news of a partnership with Pornhub announced last month.
Positive Developments for Verge
Verge is a cryptocurrency focused on ensuring privacy and anonymity. It does this by hiding the IP address and geolocation of its user transactions through Tor and l2P. This high level of privacy makes it ideal for the adult entertainment industry, and the team behind Verge recently secured a partnership with PornHub, a massive player in online adult entertainment. PornHub will be accepting Verge as a means of payment on its platform.
On top of the Pornhub partnership, Verge has announced several other big developments. Today Verge (along with the Stellar Lumens token) was added to BitFinex in response to customer demands. On top of this, TokenPay has announced that it is looking at releasing Verge debit cards. TokenPay is heavily involved with the Verge project and played a role in helping the team obtain its partnership with PornHub.
Verge was up 13.9% percent in the early morning hours for a total market cap of $1.17 billion, earning it the 24th spot on coinmarketcap.com. The rally has since settled down but may pick up again if the good news continues.
