The Lisk wallet is developed and maintained by the Lisk foundation, the same core that created the Lisk blockchain. It has the same basic features as any core wallet. Security is features are pretty good for a desktop wallet and unlike many core wallets it is not bogged down by the entire node.
The software is easy to install in its Nano form, being minimalist is makes transactions a breeze. No more than 3 steps are needed for anything when using this wallet. If you want something more advanced then there is a Core version which it helps developers to create on top of the platform.
Company / organization behind the wallets
The LISK Foundation is based in Zurich, Switzerland and run by 2 guys, Max Kordek & Oliver Beddows. The ICO was very successful, and received over $80 million investment. Both founders have been involved in Blockchain technology for a while. No major news sites wrote about the wallet technology.
LSK uses a brain wallet which means you have a passphrase to access the network if you loose your passphrase you will loose access to your account. It is also important that your passphrase be entirely unique because if someone uses the same passphrase as you they can access your account.
